How We Measure AI Citation
We don't say "you're mentioned." We say how sure we are — and show our work.
The four states we report
- Linked: your site is cited with a link.
- Named: you're mentioned by name, no link.
- Not found: no mention in that answer.
- Can't tell yet: the AI's answer was too ambiguous to score honestly.
Why we report uncertainty instead of forcing a yes/no
Most tools force a yes/no. We tell you when we genuinely can't tell — a fake "yes" is worse than an honest "not sure."
Every citation-rate score comes with a confidence range (a Wilson score interval), not a single number pretending to be exact. The more checks we run, the tighter that range gets.
We don't count a link as "working" until the traffic change is bigger than normal noise.
Who we check
We query the major AI assistants — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Grok — with the questions real customers actually ask, and record whether and how your business shows up in each answer.
Measurement depth, by plan
The numbers below are the real, current depth of each check — not a rounded-up marketing figure. They'll change as the underlying checks change; this page is updated whenever they do.
| Plan | AI-citation checks per week | Pages audited per week |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Base prompts only — each of your ~12–18 weekly prompts is checked once per configured AI engine. | Homepage + 3 more pages |
| Starter & Pro | Base prompts, plus 40 additional real re-checks every week, spread across whichever AI engines are live — not just more topics, genuine repeat sampling of the same questions. | Homepage + 10 more pages |
